2024 Member-at-Large - Asia and Pacific Region Candidate
Position Statement
As a Member-at-Large, my top 3 goals are:
- Supporting the BoG to strengthen member engagement and growth across all grades
- Enhanceing collaboration among OUs and external organizations
- Leading current-state-of-the-art initiatives to showcase ComSoc Branding
My Tier1 target audience is the world ComSoc members, extending across IEEE to global-professionals, and pre-university students in STEM.
I would use my tech-biz expertise and cross-cultural experience to:
- Kickoff/Handle special projects, eg Entrepreneurship for Young Professionals, DEI Communication & Outreach, Personal Healthcare, Connect-the-Unconnected, Pre-university Students on AI, and Mentoring Programs
- Gain synergy in public visibility with other OUs: eg MGA Board, SA, EA Board, Award Board, and the IEEE Foundation
- Strengthen ComSoc’s Connections with the industry, HEIs, public services, and like-minded professional societies to generate ESG impact
- Serve on committees to showcase ComSoc Branding
- Mentor new Board Members and new Chapters
Biography
Paulina is a global citizen. She is the Founder and CEO of Global Mutual Innovation Consortium, an international think-tank on tech-biz collaboration and development. Paulina has been Managing Director of AT&T/Lucent Technologies; Project Director of Exxon/Mobil pCorporation; and General Manager of ICO Global Communications.
As an active volunteer-leader, Paulina is the Immediate-Past-Chair, BoD Public Visibility and Vice-chair, Diversity & Inclusion Committees; Vice-chair, ComSoc WICE and Industry Liaison; Former Chair, Hong Kong Section; General Chair, TENCON”22 andProgram Chairs/Speakers, ICC/GlobeCom/WCNC/WIEIlC; Chair, WIEAG R10-MentorHer; Hong Kong Fund Manager, IEEE Foundation; Champion, TryEngineering on AI for Pre-University Students; and Co-chair/appointee, IEEE Presidential YPH/Public Policy Committees.
Paulina has been Directors of multiple Boards: The Chartered Management Institute-UK, International Society of Automation-USA, and Imperial College Ambassador.
Paulina has proudly received the MGA Diversity and Inclusion Award (2023) and the Leadership Award (2021).
