About ComSoc

Filip De Turck

2024 Member-at-Large - Europe, Middle East, Africa Region Candidate

Position Statement

As a researcher in the field of communications, IEEE member for 28 continuous years, and contributor for more than 20 years to the organization of ComSoc conferences, technical activities and journals, I regularly attend ComSoc events and meetings as an active participant. As a dedicated volunteer, I always take action points seriously and deliver timely the agreed inputs.

I intend, if elected, to focus on advancing existing and creating new services and activities to meet the needs of the ComSoc members, from industry, academia and governmental organizations,  around the world.

Topics that I find very interesting and important include: fast and timely online publications on emerging techniques and innovative approaches, industry perspectives, opportunities for societal contributions from engineers and students, recognition of members, attractive conference formats for participants from industry and academia, affordable publication costs, opportunities for young promising members and enhanced collaboration between ComSoc and the other IEEE Societies.
