About ComSoc

Marco Di Renzo

2024 Member-at-Large - Europe, Middle East, Africa Region Candidate

Position Statement

I served COMSOC for two decades, recently as Editor-in-Chief of Communications Letters and Director of Journals. I promoted the EMEA region serving in several leadership positions, recently as TPC Chair of MeditCom-2023, WCNC-2024, ICC-2026. As Distinguished Lecturer, I visited several COMSOC Chapters. These activities allowed me to become well acquainted with COMSOC across all IEEE regions. If elected, I will:

  • ensure that EMEA works cohesively with other COMSOC regions and IEEE Societies to pioneer communication theory and technologies, thanks to my experience in the Emerging Technology Standing Committee, Emerging Technology Initiatives, Chair of Special Interests Groups;
  • promote industrial-academic collaborations, thanks to my experience as Vice-Chair and Rapporteur in ETSI;
  • promote diversity, equity, inclusion, and research integrity, as I did as Editor-in-Chief and thanks to my active involvement in WICE/WIE/YP;
  • liaise with COMSOC BoG and staff to further improve publications and conferences, making them affordable to everyone.
