Position Statement

Serving in several roles at IEEE ComSoc, such as Director of Online Content, chair of WICE standing committee, and Member at Large of the Board of Governors, and as VP MGA since 2022, I have acquired a wide experience and knowledge about how we can best serve our members, make their successful contributions to the progress of humanity visible, and help them feel proud, welcomed and valued members of a community.

If elected as VP - Member & Global Activities, it will be my honor to continue serving IEEE ComSoc by leveraging my diverse experience. I would like to complete several initiatives that have just been started, and initiate others, with the following goals:

  • Improve the service to our members and the perceived value of belonging to the IEEE ComSoc community.
  • Empower chapters as the key instruments to attract and engage new members, understand their needs, share their knowledge, and expand their personal and professional growth.
  • Potentiate the role of distinguished lecturers, extend online educational and training offerings, consolidate mentoring opportunities, and continue with the recognition of our members, both locally and globally.
  • Improve and leverage diversity in IEEE ComSoc, in terms of gender, geographical region, working sector, age and other dimensions, with special emphasis on creating new services for students.

If entrusted with the confidence of IEEE ComSoc members, I will commit my time and dedication to, with everybody’s help, contribute to an even better IEEE ComSoc for all.
