About ComSoc

TNSE is jointly sponsored by ComSoc and CASS and publishes articles on understanding, prediction, and control of structures and behaviors of networks at the fundamental level. The types of networks covered include physical or engineered networks, information networks, biological networks, semantic networks, economic networks, social networks, and ecological networks. Aimed at discovering common principles that govern network structures, network functionalities and behaviors of networks, the journal seeks articles on understanding, prediction, and control of structures and behaviors of networks, and aims to be the premier source of peer-reviewed articles on the theory and applications of network science and the interconnections among the elements in a system that form a network.

Nominee
The nominee must be a member in good standing of ComSoc and/or CASS. He/she must have extensive IEEE editorial experience. Desirable qualities include excellence in technical accomplishments, leadership, integrity and ethical standards, organizational and management skills, and a strong vision and set of ideas for moving the journal forward. Applicants will be considered for this position without attention to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability status, or political affiliation.

The duties include, among others, the interaction with authors, initiating and monitoring the review process to its completion, identifying candidates for Associate Editors, interacting with the Steering Committee on matters related to the journal management and development, ensuring that the Periodical follows the IEEE Policy and Procedures, preparing a report for the IEEE Periodicals Review and Advisory Committee (PRAC) when requested, the execution of the policies established by the Editorial Board, maintaining the intellectual integrity, technical rigor, and timely operation of the journal.

The Editor-in-Chief will report to the Steering Committee. He/She will serve on, and be a voting member of, the ComSoc Journals Board and the CASS Board of Editors, and will be expected to organize/lead bi-annual Editorial Board meetings. He/She will also be invited to participate in the ComSoc Journals Board meetings during the ComSoc Publications Council meetings at ICC and GLOBECOM (the ComSoc flagship conferences), and to attend the annual CASS Editorial Board meetings taking place during ISCAS (the CASS flagship conference). The term of service will be from 01/01/2021 to 12/31/2022 and be renewable for up to two additional years.
