On 2 May 2024, IEEE ComSoc will be offering the Empowering Industry 4.0 with Next Generation Optical Access Networks online course with instructor Dr. Yuanqiu Luo who is the Director of Optical Access Standards in the Standardization and Industry Department of Futurewei Technologies, USA. This course provides a high-level understanding of next generation industrial networks and high-speed optical access while getting a review of the state of the art in optical access standards and system development.  Participants will learn about the benefits, features, and network challenges of Industry 4.0.  Dr. Luo will explain the key technologies to enable optical access and present the advantages and limitations.  Related specifications and international standards will be discussed.

The live course is delivered via Zoom and recorded for continued review during the weeks following the live course session.  All who register for the course receive a certificate of participation, are eligible to earn IEEE CEUs (continuing education units) along with which, course participants receive a PDF copy of the course slides.
