High School Student STEM Challenge & Competition in Jalisco, Mexico, 30 August 2022

The RECREA Youth Challenge STEAM 2022 event organized in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, announced the project winners on 12 July 2022.  IEEE ComSoc Educational Services Board (ESB) volunteers participated in this community supported STEM event.

As a partner, ComSoc contributed by providing volunteers from the Latin American region that helped with the review of the high school students’ projects. The ComSoc ESB thanks these volunteers for their participation: Andrea Carrion and Andres Navarro. These ComSoc volunteers reported being quite pleased with the quality and innovation of the projects. In addition, ComSoc shipped ComSoc branded souvenirs in the form of bags, pens and USBs that were distributed to the winners and which helped to increase awareness of our organization among the students.

IEEE ComSoc was among the 95 sponsors of the competition. We joined with high tech companies such as: AWS, Intel, HP, Cisco, Bosch, IBM, Continental, Oracle and many others, in conjunction with national educational institutions. Our mutual goal for this initiative was to stimulate the development of new generations of students in engineering and therefore further advance the development of the state and the country.
