Introduction to Quantum Communications Course banner

On 3 May 2024, IEEE ComSoc will be offering the popular Introduction to Quantum Communications online course with esteemed instructor, Dr. Lajos Hanzo. As is stated in the title, this course offers an introduction to quantum communications including the pros, cons, and limitations of this technology in wireless systems. Dr. Hanzo will discuss the use of quantum coding for improving the performance of all quantum systems and will share information about existing and future quantum key distribution networks.  He will also talk about the employment of quantum search algorithms for solving large-scale search problems in wireless systems with a long-term view.

This live course is delivered via Zoom and recorded for continued review during the weeks following the live course session.  All who register for the course receive a certificate of participation, are eligible to earn IEEE CEUs (continuing education units) along with which, course participants receive a PDF copy of the course slides.  In addition, participants will be provided with a set of articles/papers (over 200 pages!) selected by the instructor as optional, supplemental reading to learn more on the topic.

Past participants in this course agree that Dr. Hanzo provides a great introduction to quantum communications.  Here is what a few past course participants had to say:

“The course introduces all the major branches of quantum communications and is a good starting point for new PhD students who would like to work on quantum communications” ~Neel Kanth Kundu

"I liked the level of detail and mathematics that this course went into in the rapidly developing technology of Quantum communications and computing. I was pleased to see mathematical concepts such as matrices" ~Bruce Murray

“This course has both breadth and depth of the topic and strikes a good balance between providing a comprehensive overview and delving into the details” ~Pei Xiao
