Fawzi is a visionary, thought leader, author, and entrepreneur in communications and networking technologies including positioning and adoption of IoT/5G/AI to key markets and end-users.

Fawzi has Bachelor of Science Honors in Mathematics with Distinction, Master in Computer Science, and Executive MBA.

Fawzi is currently the president of TelNet Management Consulting Inc., founded in 2009, offering professional services in the areas of technology & business trends, development of smart networking solutions in key markets such as healthcare, mobility, energy, public safety and smart cities. 

  • As an Executive Marketing Director, he served Power.org consortium driving the advancement and promotion of Power Architecture processor ($5B market) and ecosystem.
  • Worked with other consortiums and developed proposals for an integrated IoT-GIS communications network for the first responders and presented to the governments of Ghana and Togo.
  • Collaborated with consortiums and provided consultation to 38 departments of the UAE Ministry of Environment and Water, and developed a GIS-IT strategic roadmap of 40 applications and KPI.

Fawzi has been keynote speaker in many conferences and DL for both the IEEE Communications and Computer societies.  He is Co-founder of IoT for Healthcare Consortium, Intelligent Health Association and a Board member of Austin CityUP. Fawzi has published over 50 papers and co-authored the book on “Collaborative Internet of Things for Future Smart Connected Life and Business”.

Fawzi has over 35 years in the industry and held various product and marketing leadership posts with Tier 1 companies in the US and Canada.

  • Director of Strategic marketing at Motorola/Freescale, he promoted SoC Multi-core-Multi-engine for semiconductor embedded systems.
  • Senior Product line Manager at Nortel Networks, defined product releases for network multi service edge and core switch.
  • Principal Architect and Project Leader at Teleglobe developed multi-million dollar telecom network management system based on TMN ITU Standards.

As a senior member of IEEE, Fawzi has been Vice-Chair for ComSoc NA region, Chair of ComSoc/Signal Processing Austin Joint Chapter and Chair of Computer/EMBS Austin Joint Chapter. Fawzi served as the Chair for R5 Conference Committee (2018-2019) and Chair of Central Texas Section (2018-2019). Fawzi held and chaired many conferences including 2019 IEEE Smart City Summit, 2018 IEEE GreenTech Conference, 2017 IEEE Technology for Smart Health & Wellness. Fawzi served as the Chair of 2014 Globecom Local Arrangement & Marketing/Publicity, Chair of 2012 Smart Networking Summit and others.

Fawzi has been the recipient of many awards: IEEE USA Regional Professional Leadership (2018), IEEE R5 Outstanding Large Section Award (2018), ComSoc Chapter of the Year & Chapter Achievement Awards for Austin in 2015 and 2017. He also received R5 Outstanding Member Awards for 2013, 2014 and 2015. In 2008, Fawzi received Freescale CEO Diamond Chip Award.
