Hsu-Chun Hsiao

Dr. Hsu-Chun Hsiao is an Associate Professor in Computer Science and Information Engineering and the Graduate Institute of Networking and Multimedia at National Taiwan University. She also holds an adjunct position in the Center of Information Technology and Innovation at Academia Sinica and serves as a Section Chief of Information Security in the Information Technology Office, National Taiwan University Hospital. Dr. Hsiao completed her B.S. and M.S. at National Taiwan University in 2006 and 2008, respectively, and her Ph.D. at Carnegie Mellon University in 2014. Dr. Hsiao's research interests lie in the field of network and systems security, focusing on building practical security solutions with theoretical underpinnings. Her recent work is devoted to protecting critical infrastructures (e.g., information and telecommunication networks, government services, and healthcare systems) from both emerging and deep-rooted threats. Dr. Hsiao has served and co-chaired several professional committees, including as the demo/poster co-chair of the IEEE Vehicular Networking Conference, as the demo co-chair of The Web Conference, and as the workshop co-chair of ACM ASIA Conference on Computer and Communications Security. She is a recipient of several awards, including K. T. Li Young Researcher Award by IICM and ACM Taipei/Taiwan Chapter, Young Scholar Fellowship and Ta-You Wu Memorial Award from Taiwan Ministry of Science and Technology, ACM CyberW Early Career Award Honorable Mention, IEEE Symposium on Security and Privacy (S&P) Test-of-Time Award, and Privacy Enhancing Technologies Symposium (PETS) Best Artifact Award.
