Special Feature

Special Section on Energy Efficiency for 5G Wireless

The IEEE Transactions on Green Communications and Networking (TGCN) is seeking papers contributing to energy efficiency in Fifth Generation (5G) wireless networks, to be published in a Special Section of its June 2019 issue. Papers that are on all aspects of energy efficiency in 5G wireless communications and networking are sought. Examples include, but are not limited to, physical layer communications, spectral efficiency maximization, new radio access technologies, cloud-based radio access network, massive MIMO techniques, front-haul and back-haul techniques, heterogeneous networks, small cell networks, ultra-dense networks, tactile Internet, Internet-of-Things, software defined network, network flow virtualization, network slicing, edge caching, applications in transportation, manufacturing, environmental monitoring and control, and health, all within the context of energy-efficiency maximization in 5G wireless network systems.

Papers will be peer-reviewed by a Special Section Editorial Board. The duration from the submissions deadline to the publication of the accepted papers is targeted to be 10 months.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

Prospective authors should prepare their submissions in accordance with the rules specified in the “Information for Authors” section of TGCN submission guidelines. All manuscripts should be prepared in single-column double-spaced format with no longer than 30 pages, including figures, tables, and references. The standard IEEE journal paper template should be employed in preparing the paper. The completed paper should be submitted to the Manuscript Central Web site for TGCN. In order to route the paper properly, it is important to begin the title with the abbreviation SS5G:. An example title would be “SS5G: A Novel Green Modulation Technique for Fifth Generation Cellular Wireless Systems.” Submissions that are deemed outside the scope of the Special Section will be returned to the authors and resubmission as a regular paper will be encouraged.
