Call for Papers

5G and Beyond 5G (B5G) wireless communications have demanded higher system capacity, low latency, high reliability, greater spectral efficiency as well as enabling massive internet of things (IoT). This requires novel and innovative solutions in antenna design and to reduce the degree of complexity and difficulty in system integration.  Research in this area include antenna issues, propagation issues in Millimeter-Wave (mmWave)/THz systems, and practical implementation issues across a diverse range of devices and platforms.

The goal of this Feature Topic (FT) is to cover current R&D trends and findings in the design and applications of antennas for 5G and B5G wireless communications, as well as the identification of integration techniques of these antenna systems into future networks. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to the following:

• Millimeter-wave (mmWave) antennas
• THz band antennas
• Metamaterials and Metasurface Antennas
• Conformal arrays for 5G and beyond
• Sparse arrays for mmWave/THz communication
• Massive MIMO antennas
• K, Ka-band arrays for satellites/nanosatellites
• Cooperative/distributed mmWave/THz beamforming and beam steering simulation tools
• Antenna prototyping, measurements and experimentation

Submission Guidelines

Manuscripts should conform to the standard format as indicated in the Information for Authors section of the Manuscript Submission Guidelines. Please, check these guidelines carefully before submitting since submissions not complying with them will be administratively rejected without review.

All manuscripts to be considered for publication must be submitted by the deadline through Manuscript Central. Select the “January 2022/Antenna Systems” topic from the drop-down menu of Topic/Series titles. Please observe the dates specified here below noting that there will be no extension of submission deadline.
