Shu Sun is a tenure-track associate professor in the Department of Electronic Engineering, Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU), China. She obtained her B.S. degree in applied physics from SJTU in 2012 and Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from New York University, USA, in 2018, and held summer internship positions at Nokia Bell Labs in 2014 and 2015. Shu also worked as a systems engineer at Intel Corporation, USA.

Shu has published 70+ papers which have been cited over 20,000 times on Google Scholar. She has garnered several awards, including the 2023 IEEE Vehicular Technology Society Early Career Award, the 2023 and 2017 IEEE Neil Shepherd Memorial Best Propagation Paper Award, the 2017 Marconi Society Paul Baran Young Scholar Award, the 2016 IEEE VTC-Spring Best Paper Award, and the 2015 IEEE Donald G. Fink Award. She was included in the list of the World’s Top 2% Scientists (2022).

Her research interests mainly lie in millimeter-wave communications, AI for communications, channel modeling, integrated sensing and communication, and massive MIMO and beyond. She is an Associate Editor for the IEEE Open Journal of Antennas and Propagation, and served as a Guest Editor for the IEEE Journal on Selected Areas in Communications and a Guest Editor for Sensors.
