Dr. Yan Liu is an Assistant Professor in the College of Electronic and Information Engineering at Tongji University, Shanghai, China. Prior to joining Tongji, she was a post-doctoral research assistant at Queen Mary University of London, London, United Kingdom. She received a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from Queen Mary University of London, U.K. in 2021 and a Ph.D. in signal and information processing from Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications, Nanjing, China, in 2022. Her main research interests include the field of the Internet of Things, ultra-reliability and low-latency communications, machine learning, stochastic geometry, and 5G/6G wireless networks. She received the IEEE ComSoc Student Travel Grant in IEEE International Conference on Communications (ICC) 2019 and IEEE Global Communications Conference (GLOBECOM) 2019. She was a recipient of the Shanghai Leading Talent Program (Young Scientist) in 2022. She has served on the Technical Program Committee of several major IEEE conferences, such as GLOBECOM, ICC, VTC, etc. She is currently serving as a Guest Editor of the IEEE Internet of Things Magazine on “Task-oriented Communications and Networking for the Internet of Things”.
