In Memoriam: Robert W. (Bob) Lucky

Bob Lucky, an IEEE Life Fellow, died on March 10, 2022, at the age of 86. Dr. Lucky was a leader in the communications field, serving for several years as Executive Director of Communications Sciences Research Division, Bell Telephone Laboratories, and later Corporate Vice-President of Applied Research at Bellcore in Red Bank, New Jersey.

The ComSoc BoG has strengthened its commitment to diversity and inclusion by adopting WIE's pledge as a Best Practice. The pledge states: "IEEE WIE pledges to work toward gender-diversified panels at all IEEE meetings, conferences, and events, including our own.”
ComSoc's Ad Hoc Committee on Diversity and ComSoc's Women in Communications Engineering, alongside the Conferences Council, will work together to embody this pledge in their activities as we plan future ComSoc meetings, conferences, and events.
